DESCRIPTION:The third edition of the Symposium on Data for Public Good\, hosted by the Centre of Data for Public Good (CDPG) at IISc Bengaluru\, brings together leaders from government\, academia\, startups\, and civil society to explore how data\, technology\, and governance can contribute to building inclusive\, secure\, and sustainable futures. \nThis two-day symposium will address: \n\n\nLeveraging Data for Public Good: Data Spaces and Digital Product Passports as enablers of secure\, interoperable\, and trusted data exchange. \n\n\nMobility: Data-driven digital ecosystems addressing India’s mobility challenges and supporting sustainable transport. \n\n\nWebSciX: Regional perspectives on digital challenges through the interplay of AI\, Web Science\, and society. \n\n\nPrivacy and Security for the Future of India: Innovations in privacy and security to underpin India’s digital future. \n\n\nGaia-X CINO\, Pierre Gronlier\, will join the discussions\, contributing insights on Data Spaces and Digital Product Passports. \nMore details here. \nHackathon\nFurthermore\, the 2025 Hackathon on Interoperability of Digital Public Infrastructure will take place on 11 – 13 October 2025 in Bengaluru & online from 9am. \nChallenge Objective:  \nCreate a functional prototype demonstrating seamless identity verification where a EU citizen\, using its Digital Identity Wallet\, would like to access a data resource from an Indian organisation registered in MOSIP (or vice-versa). \nAdditional bonus criteria include use of: \n\nNGSI-LD contextualised information for data semantic information representation\nData resource discovery and access through a dataspace connector such as Gaia-X\nVerifiable credential access though vLEI server\nDigital identities framework relevant for Japan\, South-Korea and Singapore\n\nSuccess Criteria: Your solution must demonstrate cross-border digital identity interoperability that preserves data sovereignty\, enables selective disclosure\, and works across heterogeneous DPI systems while complying with both GDPR and Indian data protection frameworks. \nMore information about the Hackathon here.
