The Gaia-X Evangelist Program is designed to empower passionate individuals who are eager to share their knowledge and enthusiasm about Gaia-X’s mission and vision with the broader community. Evangelists are enthusiastic supporters who spread the word, build community, and help drive engagement and growth. Evangelists play a crucial role in expanding the reach of our message, fostering innovation, and driving the adoption of our solutions.

Objective

The Gaia-X evangelist program aims to increase awareness of Gaia-X’s deliverables, encourage widespread market adoption, and build an engaged community. This effort will be reflected in membership growth and active participation in Working Groups and Sprints as more individuals and organisations align with Gaia-X’s vision and goals. The program seeks to create a network of advocates who promote Gaia-X and contribute to its development and influence within the industry.

Call for Evangelist

Become the voice of a global community dedicated to creating interoperable solutions and shaping the future of the data-driven economy.

We seek tech experts, innovation leaders, academics, developers, entrepreneurs, industry analysts, and thought leaders to join Gaia-X as Evangelists. Whether you are at the top of your organisation’s organigram providing vision and mission to your team or part of said teams, building software or solutions for your customers, this program is your chance to shape the future of data economy and help the industry to move forward.

We are looking for motivated individuals who understand the Gaia-X Architecture and vision and actively participate in their communities. Ideal candidates are passionate about technology and innovation, eager to share their knowledge, and enthusiastic about representing Gaia-X at events, meetups, and online forums. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential qualities we value in our Evangelists.

Evangelist Profile

To qualify as a Gaia-X Evangelist, we kindly ask that you meet three essential requirements:

2 mandatory requirements

  • You are a Gaia-X member, Hub, Lighthouse Project, Ecosystem, Working Group or OSS Community contributor
  • You have acquired the Gaia-X Academy certification

At least 1 of the following requirements

  • You are a member of one of the Gaia-X Committees (DSBC, PRC, TC)
  • You participate in the Gaia-X flagship events (Summit, Market-X, Tech-X, Hackathons)
  • You engage to have 5 speaker engagements per year with mention of Gaia-X

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Promote: Spread the word about Gaia-X, the trust framework, and its implementation through social media, blogs, podcasts, and events.
  • Educate: Host or participate in workshops, webinars, meetups, and conferences to teach others about Gaia-X, the trust framework, and its implementation.
  • Contribute: Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the specifications and implementations and help guide the future direction of our community.
  • Collaborate: Work with other evangelists, partners, and community members to create content, solve problems, and develop new ideas.

Meet our Evangelists

Enrique Areizaga Sánchez

Tecnalia

Enrique Areizaga Sánchez is a high-level researcher at Tecnalia and was the CEO of GPONDoctor Ltd, an SME specializing in fiber-to-the-home technologies. He has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, with a particular focus on research and development (R&D) in broadband communications. He has led and participated in numerous EU-funded R&D projects, notably within the Horizon 2020/Horizon Europe programs.

Enrique Areizaga Sánchez has also worked with renowned companies such as Huawei, Alcatel/Nokia, Telefonica, Transwitch and many others. He holds a master’s degree in physical sciences and has received several awards for his performances and publications.

Enrique is also highly involved in the Gaia-X Community, especially in Spain, collaborating to lighthouse projects, contributing to the organisation of Gaia-X Events, and being involved in spare projects getting connected to Gaia-X such as DOME.

Kai Meinke

deltaDAO AG

Kai Meinke is the Co-Founder and Business Lead at deltaDAO AG, dataspace ecosystem operation, integration, and consulting company based in Hamburg, Germany. Founded in 2021, deltaDAO focuses on creating transparent, secure, and decentralised dataspace ecosystems, enabling large companies, SMEs, and public institutions to retain full technical control over their private data. deltaDAO launched the Pontus-X ecosystem in 2021, the currently largest publicly available X-ecosystem.

In addition to his work at deltaDAO, he is a strong advocate for open-source software and data governance. He believes that the advent of decentralised data infrastructures and Web 3.0 technologies will lead to a new era of value creation and scalable trust.

Kai is active in the Gaia-X open-source community across Europe, working on projects related to data sovereignty, data protection, and compliance. He emphasizes the importance of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) and open identity ecosystems across domains, ensuring privacy and control over personal data and fair competition. He is the lead of the Gaia-X OSS Community and involved in the Gaia-X Hub Germany as well as in several Gaia-X Lighthouse projects.

Thomas Komenda

deltaDAO AG

Thomas is a Business Developer & Product Owner at deltaDAO AG. His industrial engineering background shapes his understanding of data and the critical role of AI in manufacturing, mobility and other key sectors. He is keen to drive innovation in federated data spaces, by building on the Gaia-X framework and contributing to a fair, decentralised data economy across Europe.

Thomas has participated in various events such as the Innovent Forum, where he contributed to discussions on building resilient supply chains through data and technology.

Highly involved in the Gaia-X community, Thomas has contributed to several Gaia-X lighthouse projects including Pontus-X, ACCURATE, EuProGigant, Gaia-X4FutureMobility and COOPERANTS.”

Tom Last

Elbtech

Tom Last is a tech entrepreneur, software developer and cofounder of tech startup elbtech. With an enthusiasm for innovative technologies and building meaningful solutions, he is dedicated to driving innovation in the tech community.

Gaia X reflects Tom’s genuine interest in modern technology—from open source initiatives to practical innovations that deliver real impact. As a startup founder, he sees joining the Gaia X Evangelist Programme as a practical step to help further align Gaia X with the startup and SME community.

Tom is currently working on the Health-X Lighthouse Project, where his team is developing a researcher portal and study catalog within the dataspace. Furthermore, he is an active participant in the Open Source Software community meetings and is a member of Gaia-X Hub Germany.
