Job Description:
We are looking for a “Customer Engagement Manager (m/w/x)” responsible for the alignment of data & cloud projects with the Gaia-X standard, also capturing requirements for a system landscape view to relay and collaborate with the Chief Technology Officer.
Good cooperation should be fostered, and inspiration should be taken from existing projects in order to improve engagement. Particularly, a close connection with Gaia-X Lighthouse Data Spaces and Gaia-X Lighthouse Projects is considered a key element of this job.
Additionally, this role will work in analysing the economics of data-sharing, with a focus on two elements: (i) the business of data-sharing use cases, (ii) business models for data-sharing orchestrators and intermediaries.
Reporting:
- This is a role within the Chief Strategy Office (CSO).
Location:
- Onsite and/or remote; presence in Brussels’ HQ occasionally.
- Travel to visit project champions is expected.
Role & Responsibilities:
- The role will be responsible for creating and subsequently developing an engagement plan with Gaia-X Lighthouse Projects and Data Spaces. At a macro-level and also micro-level (customised according to each project);
- Conducting an analysis of the existing level of engagement of Gaia-X projects (current status, main obstacles to the deployment of projects, critical barriers, underlying, DAFO-CAME, learnings, opportunities…) with a customer focus. NB: A user-centric approach is critical;
- Understanding the Gaia-X projects ecosystem: dynamics, stakeholders, relationships, and connections to other digital ecosystems;
- Understanding projects’ needs: primarily from the Gaia-X perspective, but also holistically (i.e. considering different building blocks involved and those economic factors involved);
- In connection with the CTO, aligning the projects’ standards with the Gaia-X technical documents as well as prescriptions from the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC);
- Understanding the projects from a business perspective (digital value chain, business model), connecting it with the unique value proposition arising from the Gaia-X Trust Framework;
- Co-defining a harmonised Gaia-X-based value model alongside with projects‘ ambassadors/ POs, connecting it with the set of Gaia-X deliverables;
- Building a template to guide data spaces in sourcing specific requirements alongside the BLOFT dimensions, and aiding in decision-making;
- Feeding projects within the Gaia-X Endorsement Program into the Use Case Testimonials pipeline;
- Aligning Use Case Testimonials participants with the harmonised model;
- Support events and regular exchanges between these stakeholders;
- Monitor the progress of projects.
Requirements:
- You have ideally at least a minimum of 12 years of experience in implementing complex projects involving customer engagement strategies, with consulting & methodological background in an international business or NPO tech environment;
- You have excellent Consulting and Program Management skills and can understand complex business & technical-driven strategies and manage different programs to reach a joined outcome. Stakeholder and Relationship Management are core skills, supporting your know-how to coordinate complex analysis, cross-project processes and communication;
- An Executive MBA and/or a degree in Business Administration or IT is a plus; experience in consulting or technical Process Management is a must-have;
- You ideally also have extensive knowledge of the state-of-the-art Data Space initiatives at the European level, as well as experience with the policy dynamics of this environment.
