This year’s Gaia-X Hackathon #3 was focused on the creation and validation of Self Descriptions.
More than 350 highly skilled professionals virtually gathered across Europe, working together jointly in the following tracks (areas of interest):
- Track 1 – For newcomers
- Track 2 – Self-Description tools and services
- Track 3 – Gaia-X Federated Services
- Track 4 – ACME – Towards a Gaia-X compliant infrastructure provider
- Track 5 – Eclipse Dataspace Connector
- Track 6 – Deployment of Ecosystems / Minimal Viable Gaia-X Track
Some of the deliverables include:
- Self-Description Wizard/SHACL Shape to Self-Description Generator
- Gaia-X Trust Framework Demonstrator (including Issuer, Verifier and Wallet), based on OIDC4VP and SIOPv2 available now
- Gaia-X Registry Alpha available now
- All Trust Framework Components are available for deployment on your own infrastructure
- Gaia-X Trust Framework included in Minimal Viable Gaia-X
- dNation used Hyperledger Aries for the issuance and validation of Verifiable Credentials
- walt.id demonstrated how JSON Self-Descriptions can now easily be transformed into Templates for Verifiable Credentials
- A Credential Bridge has been designed to perform Credential transformation based on ALFA policies
- deltaDAO and Ocean Protocol provided an overview and demonstration of a federated Gaia-X ecosystem which can experienced using the Minimal Viable Gaia-X
- Threefold provided an overview of a decentralized Structura-X ecosystem for infrastructure and cloud service providers
- Minimal Viable Gaia-X service offerings and underlying infrastructure has been made transparent using Gaia-X Self-Descriptions
- Minimal Viable Gaia-X stack has been deployed to different infrastructures using VMware Tanzu enabling deployment, scaling and migrations of services without lock-in
- dNation and IONOS improved Pilot-005 to integrate a first version of the Gaia-X catalogue and to integrate the authorization provider
Each Hackathon attracts more participants than the previous one. A Growing number of participants is confirming that Gaia-X is addressing areas of great importance.
