Christoph Strandl

CTO, Gaia-X

Educated as a research scientist in Theoretical Physics, Dr Strnadl has over 30 years of consulting and management experience in IT and how to leverage it for businesses. After 10 years as a strategy consultant and business manager at Atos, he joined Software AG in 2005, where he held various technical leadership positions in Austria, central and eastern Europe, and finally, at the global level as Deputy CTO. His accountabilities centred around aligning technology solutions and products with business requirements and strategies with a pronounced focus on innovation and evangelisation. In this capacity, he has been responsible for Software AG’s ecosystem engagements, such as Gaia-X or dataspaces, since 2019. Before joining the Gaia-X AISBL as CTO, he led the efforts of the IOTA Foundation, a Berlin blockchain/DLT association, to define and implement a technology adoption department in 2024. He is a recognised public speaker with over 300 appearances, a university lecturer for BPM technologies, and a co-author of/contributor to six books.

Emmanouil Bakopoulos

Research Engineer, Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation

Research Engineer and Project Manager with experience in the digital transformation of manufacturing systems. His work focuses on data-driven approaches, industrial data spaces, production scheduling, and the development of decision-support systems. He has contributed to European and national research projects, supporting the design of system architectures and methodologies that enable interoperability, real-time data utilization, and adaptive optimization in industrial environments. 

Sava Stanojevic

Head of Data Intelligence, MicelioData

I am a Mathematics and Data Science graduate working as a Data Lead at MicelioData. My work focuses on data spaces, interoperability, and the onboarding of SMEs into complex data-sharing ecosystems. I specialize in supporting the adoption of data space concepts within the textile supply chain, with a particular focus on Asian regions and cross-border collaboration.

Daniel Alonso Román

Senior Technical Lead Big Data and AI ecosystems, Big Data Value Association (BDVA)

Daniel is working with Big Data Value Association (BDVA) as Senior Technical Lead Big Data and AI ecosystems, focused on (i) leading the activities to generate relevant outcomes in relation to Data Spaces, Big Data Value technologies and industrial AI, (ii) supporting the development of strategic agendas, roadmaps, reports, architectures, frameworks, methodologies, standards, and paths for technology adoption, value creation and market uptake, and (iii) engaging with stakeholder networks at International, European, National and Regional level. With background on telecommunications and ICT technologies and more than 25 years of professional experience dedicated to both research, innovation and industry on these fields. During the last years Daniel has been involved in most relevant regional and European technology innovation ecosystems, participating in forums and discussions, co-organizing strategic activities and events, contributing to Strategic Research and Innovation Agendas, leading working groups and coordinating strategic projects. In recent times, Daniel has been chairing the BDVA i-Spaces group from 2018, and coordinating the EUHubs4Data project (aimed at creating an European federation of data driven hubs) from the beginning September 2020.

Pietro Bartoccioni

Software Architect, Aruba S.p.A

Pietro Bartoccioni is the lead architect of the IAA (Identity, Authentication, Authorisation) team, responsible for designing and implementing the security and trust components of the Simpl-Open project, the open-source European Commission-founded middleware for data-sharing systems. He also leads the Gaia-X ICAM (Identity, Credential and Access Management) working group that is focused on maintaining the ICAM Document that treats SSI, Digital Identities, Verifiable Credentials, Interoperable trust Semantic Model, and much more.

Petteri Kivimäki

Chief Technology Officer, Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions (NIIS)

Petteri Kivimäki is one of Europe’s leading technical experts in digital government and interoperability solutions. His career spans from software development to crafting complex cloud and technology architectures for companies and public administrations. He is also a certified cloud and technology architect, holding multiple certificates from renowned entities like AWS, Microsoft, and Google. As an active participant in the tech community, Petteri has authored several articles on topics such as open-source software and APIs.

Vincent Legrand

Lead Architect – Digital for Procurement (DOP), Airbus

Vincent Legrand is a Architect at Airbus, driving the DECADE-X project technical implementation. His work focuses on data spaces, architectural design, and fostering scalable strategies for data-driven collaboration within the aerospace industry.

Kai Meinke

Co-Founder and Business Lead, deltaDAO AG
Gaia-X Evangelist

Kai Meinke is the Co-Founder and Business Lead at deltaDAO AG, a dataspace ecosystem operation, integration, and consulting company based in Hamburg, Germany. Founded in 2021, deltaDAO focuses on creating transparent, secure, and decentralised dataspace ecosystems, enabling large companies, SMEs, and public institutions to retain full technical control over their private data. deltaDAO launched the Pontus-X ecosystem in 2021, the currently largest publicly available X-ecosystem. 

In addition to his work at deltaDAO, he is a strong advocate for open-source software and data governance. He believes that the advent of decentralised data infrastructures and Web 3.0 technologies will lead to a new era of value creation and scalable trust. 

Kai is active in the Gaia-X open-source community across Europe, working on projects related to data sovereignty, data protection, and compliance. He emphasizes the importance of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) and open identity ecosystems across domains, ensuring privacy and control over personal data and fair competition. He is the lead of the Gaia-X OSS Community and involved in the Gaia-X Hub Germany as well as in several Gaia-X Lighthouse projects. 

Jonas Stilling

Jonas Stilling is a Research Associate at Fraunhofer ISST, where he has been working on topics related to digital transformation, data ecosystems, and emerging technologies since 2023. With an academic background in Information Technologies, his work focuses on bridging technological innovation with practical business applications. He specializes in Frontend solutions, digital ecosystems, and the development of scalable strategies for data-driven collaboration and innovation.

Dr. Antonio J. Jara

CSO, Libelium

Steering strategic growth at Libelium, my role as an Executive Board Member has been pivotal in fostering research, innovation, and key partnerships. Our team’s commitment to leading the Smart Cities and Mobility markets is underscored by multiple successful M&As. In my capacity as Chief Scientific Officer, I have brought to the table a robust expertise in IoT and cybersecurity, contributing to the development of standards and spearheading R&D for national and European projects. The Smart Cities blueprint we’re developing at NEOM is fortified by our collaborative efforts to secure the future of urban living.

Frederic Bellaiche

PhD, Vice President of Technology and Research, Dawex – Data Exchange Technology

Frédéric Bellaiche is a PhD and Vice President of Technology & Research at Dawex. He is responsible for the strategic development and integration of most advanced technologies within the Dawex organization and product architecture. Recognized expert in Data Exchange architecture and security, Frédéric is leading the Gaia-X Data Exchange Services Working Group, is the Data Exchange lead at Gaia-X Federated Services French Hub, and also a member of the Data Spaces Support Center EG4 Expert Group. Prior to joining Dawex, Frédéric served for 14 years as Technical Expert for a leading digital services company where he led innovation in the areas of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Edge Computing, Blockchain, Security and Quantum Computing. Prior to that, Frédéric also served as CTO and co-founder of a start-up specialized in securing financial flows for 7 years. During his career, Frédéric has conducted research at Brookhaven National Laboratory in the field of high energy physics, at CERN and at the Université Claude Bernard. Holding a PhD. in particle physics and a DEA in nuclear and particle physics.

José Andrés Muñoz Arcentales

Ryan Reychico

Software Engineer, Gaia-X

Ryan is a Full Stack developer with over 7 years of experience working on web and mobile applications, often in international and cross-functional teams. He has collaborated with major players in the retail industry like Norauto, ADEO, and Auchan, helping to deliver user-friendly and efficient digital solutions that support business goals. Beyond his technical skills, Ryan is known for his team spirit, mentoring mindset, and ability to adapt quickly to new challenges. Comfortable in agile environments, he enjoys working closely with product and design teams to bring ideas to life. Curious and proactive, he’s always ready to contribute to meaningful projects and grow with the teams he joins. Outside of work, Ryan is passionate about motorcycles and staying active through sports. He plays badminton twice a week and regularly takes part in other activities like football. These hobbies keep him energized, focused, and balanced in his daily life.

Benoit Tabutiaux

Experienced, organised and creative technical director with a PhD and degrees in computer engineering and innovation management. Keen to apply his 15 years of experience in the innovation ecosystem, his expertise and versatility to drive performance and growth.

Klaus Ottradovetz

Member of the Atos Scientific community, Atos International Germany GmbH

Having worked closely with many innovation partners on the definition and implementation of industry- and technology platforms (IoT, Smart City, Blockchain, “PaaS”, Big Data and Analytics across IT and OT) Klaus joined the GAIA-X project and contributed to the use cases as well as the documents describing GAIA-X as an enabler for Infrastructure- and Data ecosystems.

Stefan Wiedemann

Senior  Software Engineer, SEAMWARE

Stefan is a Senior Software Engineer at SEAMWARE and a member of the FIWARE Technical Steering Committee. He has extensive experience in open-source software development and IoT platforms, with a strong focus on data spaces and interoperability. Stefan leads the development of the FIWARE Data Space Components and Connector and specializes in decentralized digital identity and access management within European regulatory and sovereign data-sharing frameworks.

Dr. Kosmas Alexopoulos

Research Engineer, Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS) of the University of Patras

Dr. Kosmas Alexopoulos graduated from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of the University of Patras, Greece, in 1999. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from the same university in 2006. Since October 1998, he has been working at the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation (LMS) of the University of Patras, Greece as a software engineer, senior researcher, and project manager, participating in more than 40 European and national research projects. Since November 2024, he has been serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Digital Industry Technologies at the University of Athens, Greece.

His research interests and expertise lie in the fields of smart and digital factories, flexibility and resilience of manufacturing systems, digital transformation, digital twins, virtual and augmented reality, internet of things, industrial dataspaces, cyber-physical systems, industrial product-service systems, production scheduling and artificial intelligence.

Dr. Alexopoulos has authored more than 100 scientific publications, including journal papers, book chapters, and peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
