In our latest “Her Voice in Tech: 3 Questions with…” interview, we speak with Aude Gauthier-Moreau, Deputy Head of BNP Paribas CIB Core Banking and Gaia-X Board of Directors member. Aude shares her journey as a woman in tech, the importance of mentorship, and her dedication to encouraging young girls to explore careers in technology. She also highlights the crucial role of Gaia-X in promoting secure, trusted data sharing across industries like banking and insurance.
- As a woman in tech, how have you leveraged your voice to drive change in your field?
It was crucial to speak up and express my ideas without holding back, especially since I started as a young professional just after my studies. It is always necessary to be bold and assertive in your prerogatives. Nonetheless, it is also important to remain humble and authentic in all situations: don’t be shy and always be yourself!
- What change would you like to see in the tech industry that will empower future generations of women?
It is crucial to introduce science and technology to children, encouraging young girls to consider technical careers. Personally, I am deeply involved in various initiatives related to this, whether as a sponsor, mentor, or ambassador, because I believe we all have a role to play. We need to communicate and promote that Tech is fun and for everyone!
- What problem in your industry do you hope Gaia-X will solve in the next 5 years?
In the bank and insurance sector, as for most industry sectors, data sharing is essential. Initiatives like Gaia-X are therefore of most importance to promote secured and trusted data sharing between partners and to clearly define the rules associated with these exchanges. It enables and fosters innovative cross-partners and cross-industry services. As an IT professional and as a BNP Paribas representative, I am actively contributing to Gaia-X, especially within its Board of Directors.
