Zertifier is pleased to announce that RegenAg-X has been approved as a Gaia-X Lighthouse Ecosystem.
RegenAg-X is a European agrifood data space designed to accelerate the transition towards regenerative farming by enabling trusted, sovereign and interoperable data sharing across the sector. The initiative brings together farmers, agri-food companies, researchers, technology providers and ecosystem operators in a secure framework where data can be shared, discovered and reused under clear governance rules.
Built to reflect core Gaia-X principles, RegenAg-X combines data sovereignty, transparency and interoperability with practical tools for real-world adoption. Its architecture integrates secure data exchange, semantic interoperability and FAIR-aligned metadata practices, allowing participants to keep control over how their data is accessed and used.
A distinctive feature of RegenAg-X is its use of compute-to-data, which allows analytics and AI models to run where the data remains, reducing unnecessary exposure and reinforcing trust. The ecosystem is also connected to a cloud-based operational environment and to monetisation mechanisms supported by Web3 technology and Ocean Enterprise Collective, enabling traceable transactions and new value-creation models around agricultural data.
RegenAg-X is supported by EIT Food through the Tech4RegenAg project and is supported operationally by ZertiFarm, Zertifier’s digital platform for farm and livestock management, data capture, traceability and marketplace connectivity. Together, these components create a robust foundation for regenerative agriculture use cases, from soil health and biodiversity to farm performance, traceability and data-driven advisory services.
