We are delighted to welcome the Caribbean Datacenter Association as a new member, who will also be managing our newest Hub in the Caribbean.
Founded in 2024, The Caribbean Datacenter Association is dedicated to building a consolidated Caribbean digital market and economy. By connecting datacenters across the region, they aim to accelerate digital transformation and foster a vibrant, interconnected technology landscape. Together with their partners leading-edge operators, government bodies, and industry experts, they are cultivating an environment that is conducive to collaboration, knowledge sharing, educational programmes and Tier 1 internet connectivity across the network.
Gaia-X CEO Ulrich Ahle said, “We’re thrilled to have the Caribbean Datacenter Association not only join us as a new member, but also as the new Gaia-X Caribbean Hub. We are looking forward to working together on a regional data sovereignty initiative and driving the Gaia-X globalisation efforts forward. With the Caribbean Datacenter Association’s integration of datacenters throughout the region, we know their network and unique expertise will be a huge asset to the Gaia-X Community.”
Giovanni King, Chairman of the Caribbean Datacenter Association remarked, “The CDA is honored to join forces with Gaia-X and take on the role of the Caribbean Hub. This marks a defining moment in our region’s journey toward digital sovereignty and economic unity. With the Caribbean Datacenter Association—founded just last year in 2024, and our expanding network of leading-edge operators, governments, and industry stakeholders, we are ready to connect datacenters from Bermuda to Curacao. Our collaboration with Gaia-X will enable us to build a federated infrastructure that secures data sovereignty, enhances resiliency, and powers connectivity across the Caribbean. Through shared educational programs, innovation forums, and best-practice exchanges, we will catalyse regional transformation and nurture a thriving, digitally resilient Caribbean economy. We look forward to leveraging Gaia-X’s global framework to scale our impact and let Caribbean data and expertise shine on the world stage.”
