Tech-X Conference & Hackathon Returns for its Second Edition in Partnership with Gaia-X Hub Luxembourg

8 May 2024, Brussels, Belgium – Gaia-X, the European initiative for a secure and federated data infrastructure, is pleased to announce that the Gaia-X Tech-X Conference & Hackathon Awards returns for its second edition on 23-24 May 2024 in Luxembourg. Following the resounding success of the debut event in Bilbao, Spain, this year, we are teaming up with Gaia-X Hub Luxembourg to deliver a platform for innovation, collaboration, and technological advancement.

Aligned with Gaia-X’s 2024 strategy, the event aims to drive market readiness, deepen collaboration within the tech community, and leverage open-source solutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to dive deep into real-world challenges, gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, and validate Gaia-X’s architecture and specifications.

Ulrich Ahle, Gaia-X CEO, emphasised, “Open source and data standards such as Gaia-X enable the trustworthy use of data based on commonly agreed values. Interoperable data spaces based on a federated cloud infrastructure enable the next level of digital transformation in different sectors and are the basis for creating value out of data. Gaia-X’s Tech-X Conference & Hackathon demonstrate the immense potential of a secure and federated data infrastructure and how data is of great relevance for businesses in Europe and other economic regions of the world.”

Ralf Hustadt, Special Advisor, Digitalisation, Data Economy and Gaia-X at Luxinnovation GIE, expressed his excitement, stating: “We all know that we live in an era where digital sovereignty and collaboration are paramount. But it does not only require the will and a vision but also turning this into action. That’s why we’re thrilled to host the 2024 edition of Tech-X in the heart of Europe, where we’ll delve deep into the initiatives needed to make this vision a reality. Join us as we embark on a journey of collaboration and innovation to shape the future.”

Pierre Gronlier, Gaia-X CTO: “Join us at Tech-X Conference & Hackathon #7 to deepen collaboration within the tech community and leverage open-source solutions. Hacking with us during this edition is about enhancing the entire Gaia-X ecosystem, using the Gaia-X Trust Framework 2210 and GXDCH for compliance validation, while focusing on improving user experience, and knowledge dissemination within the community or addressing unmet business needs. This is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on the future of data exchange!”

The event will take place at the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL), providing a platform for networking and collaboration among businesses, Gaia-X Lighthouse projects, and key players in the tech industry. The conference will run parallel to a hackathon, where participants can showcase their skills and compete for exciting prizes.

Tech-X aligns with Gaia-X’s vision to enable trusted decentralised digital ecosystems and demonstrates the immense potential of a secure and federated data infrastructure in Europe, highlighting the crucial role of data for businesses and the growth of the European economy.
