 Who is Antonio?Â
Antonio J. Jara is Chief Scientific Officer of Libelium. He is a recognised authority in digital twins and data spaces, having advised global tech leaders like Microsoft and Fujitsu and received multiple awards for innovation and entrepreneurship, including honours from the Spanish Government and the IPSO Alliance. He focuses on shaping the future of smart environments and AI-driven urban solutions. He also serves as the Chair of Data Quality and IoT at IEEE, contributing to global standardization efforts and the advancement of digital technologies.
Antonio holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (cum laude) from the University of Murcia, Spain, where his research introduced novel, secure, and scalable methods for connecting physical objects to the internet. He also earned an MBA from ENAE Business School and UCAM, equipping him with a strong foundation in business and entrepreneurship.Â
Antonio plays a key role in the Gaia-X initiative in Spain, especially as a Board Member of the Spanish Gaia-X Hub, and also involved in high-level standardisation and policy implementation for trusted data spaces in Spain and Europe, aiming to promote trusted, federated, and sovereign infrastructures to empower innovation and compliance across sectors. He is also highly reputed as a speaker participating in over 100 events, including panels, keynotes and support to the dissemination of emerging technologies.Â
What is the Gaia-X Evangelist Programme?Â
The Gaia-X Evangelist Programme is designed to empower passionate individuals who are eager to share their knowledge and enthusiasm about Gaia-X’s mission and vision with the broader community. Evangelists are enthusiastic supporters who spread the word, build community, and help drive engagement and growth. They play a crucial role in expanding the reach of Gaia-X’s message, fostering innovation, and driving the adoption of Gaia-X solutions.Â
Evangelists promote Gaia-X by promulgating its trust framework and implementation through social media, blogs, podcasts, and events. They also educate others by hosting or participating in workshops, webinars, meetups, and conferences. Additionally, they contribute by providing feedback and suggestions to improve Gaia-X specifications and implementations.Â
