New Gaia-X Hub Launched in Brazil: A Strategic Step in Global Data Sovereignty and Digital Collaboration

Gaia-X has officially launched its latest national hub in Brazil, marking a key step in its global expansion strategy and establishing the first Gaia-X presence in Latin America. The initiative aims to strengthen data sovereignty, interoperability, and innovation across borders.

Launched in collaboration with ABINC (Associação Brasileira de Internet das coisas), an organisation driving the growth of Brazil’s IoT ecosystem by uniting companies of all sizes to promote collaboration and innovation. Its objective is to encourage the exchange of information and foster commercial activity among members; promote research and development activities; work with government authorities involved in the Internet of Things and represent and make international partnerships with entities in the sector. ABINC’s mission is to build a strong, inclusive IoT ecosystem that positions Brazil as a global leader in digital transformation.

The Gaia-X Brazil Hub will bring together government, academia, and industry to develop secure and transparent data-sharing frameworks aligned with Gaia-X principles. Its priorities include promoting trusted digital infrastructure and fostering international collaboration between Europe and Latin America.

Their mission is well aligned with Gaia-X’s goal to create trusted, interoperable, and sovereign data ecosystems that support innovation, collaboration, and value creation across borders. With this launch, Gaia-X continues to advance its mission of building a federated global data infrastructure, connecting regions through shared values of transparency, control, and cooperation.
