SHOES-X recognised as a Gaia-X Lighthouse Project

Gaia-X is pleased to announce that SHOES-X has been approved as a Gaia-X Lighthouse Project.

SHOES-X creates an integrated data space platform for the global footwear value chain, enabling secure, sovereign data exchange across manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, brands, and consumers while meeting EU compliance requirements such as ESPR and Digital Product Passports (DPP).

The platform implements five core modules: : (1) Eclipse Dataspace Connector (EDC) for secure federated peer-to-peer data exchange with IDS/Gaia-X aligned usage control policies, (2) Digital Twin Registry (DTR) as an authoritative index for asset discovery, (3) Asset Administration Shell (AAS) for standardized digital representation (IDTA compliant), (4) Digital Product Passport (DPP) delivering verifiable lifecycle data with tiered disclosure (Public/Regulator/Commercial), and (5) Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculation engine compliant with ISO 14067 and PACT standards. Together, they provide compliant, traceable, and interoperable data flows across the entire footwear supply chain.

Gaia-X Lighthouse Projects aim to create a data exchange platform built on transparency, trust, and openness, helping to create a coherent data infrastructure ecosystem. SHOES-X is the latest project to join 23 other Lighthouse Projects spanning industries such as manufacturing, energy, and health. Read more about the Gaia-X Lighthouse Projects here.
