Francisca Rubio from Gaia-X Hub Spain and Mario Drobics from Gaia-X Hub Austria have recently been appointed as the new Hub Sounding Board Lead and Co-Lead respectively. They take over from Jan Fischer (Gaia-X Hub Germany) and Peter Verkoulen (Gaia-X Hub the Netherlands) who successfully led the Sounding Board for the last two years.
The Gaia-X Hub Sounding Board is a synchronisation board for all Gaia-X Hubs. The participation in the monthly meetings is exclusively for the Hub Coordinators who are responsible for leading the respective Hubs.
Gaia-X Hubs serve as the central contact points for stakeholders in their respective countries and act as grassroots supporters of the Gaia-X initiative. They bring together user communities across Europe to advance the development of European Data Spaces. They gather use cases, requirements, and standards, to support the Gaia-X Association in setting up and establishing a sovereign data-infrastructure via a common Gaia-X architecture as well as policy rules, standards and Federated Services.
Over the next two years as part of their tenure as Lead and Co-Lead of the Sounding Board, Francisca and Mario will work together leading the rest of the Hubs to further support Gaia-X’s core mission to enable trusted decentralised digital ecosystems, promoting collaboration, innovation and inclusivity across different regions, incorporating local regulations and further driving Gaia-X market adoption.
